Hey guys!
I tried out the plastic wrap technique and it wasn't a total success. If you haven't seen any manicures done like this, the process is pretty simple. All you need is two or more different nail polish and plastic wrap (yes, that stuff you use to wrap your leftover food up in). First paint your nails like normal and let them dry completely. Make sure you have little pieces of plastic wrap ready to use, roughly 2 inches by 2 inches. After your nails are dried, paint only one nail at a time and before it dries, crinkle your piece of plastic wrap and light dab off the still wet polish, wait for that to dry and apply our top coat! It's a pretty simple process. Where I messed up was my color selection, as you'll see. The colors I used were OPI Purple with Purpose and Zoya Reece.
It didn't turn out badly, it just didn't turn out as well as I hoped. If Reece was more opaque it would have been better I think. I thought about doing another color on top but in the end I didn't. It's definitely a technique I will do again! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Havana Nights
Hey guys!
Color blocking is all over the place right now, nail polish trends included! It's pretty simple to do as long as you have some tape and a little bit of time. To achieve my nice straight lines I just used regular scotch tape and made sure to wait long enough between each color to make sure they were dry before I applied the tape.
The colors I used from left to right are Read My Palm, Teal We Meet Again, and Rumba Romance all from Sephora by OPI's Havana Nights collection. I LOVE this whole collection, especially these three colors together.
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Slanted French Tip
Hey guys!
I've got a multi-colored, slanted french tip for you today. As I've said before, I'm not a huge fan of french tips but this one is a bit of a twist. I used 3 different base coats, Blue Grotto from Sephora by OPI, Caliente Romance from Sephora by OPI, and Fuchsia from China Glaze. I used White Cap from China Glaze for the french tip.
A simple twist on a classic look, hope you enjoyed!

Barbie Pink!
Hey guys!
This past weekend, my boyfriend and I had a wedding to go to so of course once I decided on what dress I was wearing, I had to figure out what to do with my nails! I waned something girly and pretty and simple. As I was looking through my polish I found Play the Peonies from OPI but I wanted more that just that beautiful light pearly pink so I went looking in my glitters to see if I could find anything that would go well. I found a glittery pink top coat from Forever21.
It turned out perfect! It changed Play the Peonies just enough (click here to see Play the Peonies by itself). As you can see, the top coat really did change the color and the glitter was just enough. I really liked how it turned out, hope you guys did too!

Reverse Glitter Gradient
Hey guys!
I needed a little excitement on my nails so I decided to do a reverse glitter gradient. When in doubt, use some glitter! I wanted something brighter so the colors I used were Delia's Bright Purple and OPI Sparkle-licious.
I used the same method as my previous glitter gradients just focused the glitter at the bottom of my nail instead of the tip.
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Hot Apple with gold crackle
Hey Guys!
With the weather getting nicer and nicer I was dying to find the most perfect red/hot pink mix and so I went searching through my stash and I found it with Hot Apple from China Glaze. It was so bright and so perfect for my mood. It was so good, I even put it on my toe nails as well! I also did an accent nail of gold crackle, Antiqued Gold from Sally Hansen.

Mac Ruffian Inspired
Hey guys!
I was flipping through my May edition of InStyle and came across pictures of the Mac Ruffian Press-On nails and fell in love! The nails are going to be released in June. They are two or three toned nails that have a half moon and a french tip. I'm sure it's been done before but this is the first time I've seen it so I decided to give it a shot. I'm not a huge fan of french tips personally because my natural nail shape doesn't really work well with the typical french tip shape but I figured with a half moon at the bottom, it might work a little better.
The colors I used from left to right: Nice is Nice from Essie, Dove from Zoya, and Anja from Zoya.

As you can tell, I wasn't patient enough to wait for my nails to be totally dried so Anja, the dark purple, streaked when I put my top coat on. If this ever happens to you, you could always add a layer of glitter to help hide the streaks if you don't try to clean the streaks up. I just left these because I didn't feel like doing either when I originally did them, it was late and I was tired and just decided to let it go. No one even noticed until I would point it out.
I hope you guys like it and give it a shot! I'm sure the Mac ones are going to be a little pricey so why not do them yourself!

Neon Water Marble
Hey guys!
I've been seeing a lot of nude colors mixed with some neon colors all over from fashion to home decor and everything in between so I figured I would give it a shot on my nails! It didn't quite turn out how I hoped but I still liked the end result.
The base color I used was Blank Canvas Cream from Finger Paints. This is one of my favorite nudes. It goes really well with my skin tone and just a nice nude for me!
The colors I used in the marbling were all from China Glaze, from left to right: Fuchsia, Coral Star, and White Cap.
The main problem I had with this water marble is that I used a bowl instead of a cup like I usually do. The polish didn't want to spread out to the edges of the bowl and if it did spread out, it would dry quickly. I just kept going and hoped for the best. It didn't turn out awfully but I was hoping for better. Hope you liked it!

Tribal Inspired
Hey guys!
I've got a tribal inspired look that I love! Tribal and color blocking is everywhere right now so why not put it on my nails?
The colors I used from left to right, Delia's Bright Purple, Sephora by OPI Read My Palm, and Sephora by OPI Rumba Romance. I also used a Stripe Rite polish in black to make the lines on my ring fingers.
You guys know how much I love my accent nails! The first picture is in natural light and the bottom one is with a flash.
I really love all of the nail art I've been seeing lately but it's always on every single nail and for me and my personality, it can get a little much which is why I like my accent nails even more! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Off With Her Red!
Hey guys,
Just a quick NOTD look featuring Off With Her Red! from OPI.
I could probably wear red on my nails almost everyday of my life. I love love love red nails! I know some people think red it too bold and loud for them but I love all reds from bright fire truck red to deep burgundy and everything in between.
Hope you enjoyed!

Easter Nails
Happy Easter everyone!
If you don't celebrate Easter, then happy Sunday! Lots of colors and a franken are coming your way! The base colors I used from left to right are OPI Play in the Peonies, Zoya Catlin, OPI Time-less is More, China Glaze Light as Air, and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamonds
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

The colors are in reverse order on my nails and Diamonds was used as a top coat on top of them just to give a similar finish to all of them. I love adding Diamonds on top of colors just to add a little shimmer on top especially if the colors don't have any shimmer in them.
Next comes the polka dots! The colors I used for the polka dots from left to right are China Glaze White on White, Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto, my own glitter franken, and OPI Purple with a Purpose.
My glitter franken was just a bunch of little Bon-Bon polishes mixed together in an empty bottle. It didn't quite turn out how I had hoped it would but I still like how it turned out. Here are on some close ups of it in the bottle and on my nail.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

Sunshine Gradient
Hey guys!
We have had unseasonably warm weather here the past week or so and I, like Brielle am a child of the sun! Now however, it's back to regular spring time weather, not as warm but still pretty. I love summer and being outside at the pool or beach or lake or any other body of water when it's warm out. Unfortunately, I am no longer in school so that means no spring break trips :( but my nails say otherwise!
I've been wanting to try out color gradients instead of glitter gradients. I was waiting to try it till it got a little warmer out and could use brighter colors, not the I shy away from bright colors in the colder weather. But anyway, onto the nails!
The colors I used from left to right:Animal-istic from OPI, Coral Star from China Glaze, Cab Fare from Sephora by OPI, and White Cap from China Glaze.
I used Cab Fare as my base and then took Coral Star on a wet Q-tip and started the gradient process which you can read about here. I used a little bit of Animal-istic to darken up my tip, it worked perfectly.
To help the colors blend better, I used White Cap which is one of Brielle and I's favorites. It's a shear white with yellow shimmer so it worked really well with the orange and yellow.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips: SPRING FEVER
SPPRRIIINNGGG FEEEVVERRRRR!
Okay ya'll (ps, Adam and I totally want to become Southerners), it is getting warm up in the Midwest and I AM LOVING IT!
2012 has been hard on me because the place I am in life. I know, sob story, I'm in college blah blah blah. But no really, I just feel stuck. I'm ready to get on with life! AH! I seriously have only been doing my nails every other week or so. It's been rough.
So, we took a BREAK! Breaking from the stressors of school, work, teaching, everything. It was a time for us to recharge for these last six weeks of school before the summertime.
We went to Panama City Beach, Florida. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!
I hope you all are enjoying the first day of spring and have warm weather!

All I can do is sigh. I love the beach, I am totally a child of the sun. SO GORGE!
Anyways, on to the more important things.... nails.
A few days before vacation I was really worried about what I would do with my nails, I mean I was NOT going to take polish to PCB with me. In came Sally Hansen's Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. I was walking through MEIJER! And they caught my eye, how perfect for vacation, I thought. Laid down some cash and there I was.
We weren't leaving until Friday at 2am so I had time to quickly slap them on and get in the car for twelve hours.
This was taken on my balcony, they worked so perfectly, they stayed on for the most part! They are the perfect vacation accessory!
Here's out they looked five days after application...
Not too shabby considering all the wear and tear they were receiving at the beach!

Dress Me Up
Hey guys!
Here is one of the Hunger Games Colors from the Capitol in Dress Me Up from China Glaze. I LOVE this color, it is the perfect nude/light rosey pink color. It's just beautiful. I could wear this one a lot and I don't say that about many colors, especially a nude.

Gypsy Red
Hey guys!
Here is a quick NOTD look. My nails needed a little pick me up. I was getting sick of the darker or really pale drab colors of winter so I choose something a little brighter. Covergirl Continuous Color 3 in 1 in Gypsy Red. I'm so glad I picked this one, it was just the right shade of red/orange with shimmer.
My next few posts will have The Hunger Games Colors from the Capital! So excited for the colors I bought and of course for the movie to come out in March. I LOVED all of the books and I cannot wait for the movie! Anyone else out there excited for it?

Reece
Hey bloggers!
The last NOTD that I have before Valentine's Day is Reece, another polish from Zoya. Spring seems to be on it's way, at least temperature wise so I thought something with a little more Spring feel was fitting. This color is a little hard to describe because it's always changing in the light. The best way I can describe it is a light purple/pink with a yellow/light green shimmer.

Warm & Fozzie
Hey bloggers!
Another quick NOTD look, this one is Warm & Fozzie from the OPI Muppets collection. Beautiful shimmery bronze/brown for the character Fozzie Bear who is Kermit's best friend in the Muppets. When I first saw pictures of this one, I didn't think I would like it but once I saw it in person, I totally loved it without a doubt! It's a great darker neutral that has a good amount of shimmer.
Hope you enjoyed!

Anja
Hi bloggers!
Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I know we keep saying that almost each post it seems like but we are trying to get back into the swing of things so I'll have a few NOTD looks coming up before Valentine's Day and of course a Valentine's Day look of my own that you should be on the look out for. Hello, run on sentence lol anyway on to the nails. This beautiful deep plum color is Anja from Zoya.
So pretty, so smooth. It went on perfect with only one coat. I typically do two coats at least but this one went on so well the first time, I just stuck with one. If you haven't tried any Zoya nail polishes, I would definitely recommend giving them a try! I have loved every color I've gotten from them. I think I have about 5 or so now and none of them have disappointed me. They are just quality polishes that have great wear times as well as beautiful colors. Also, if you check out their blog they have great sales too!
Oh! And an update on my New Year's Resolution, still going strong! Not only did I decide to stop buying polish, I decided to put roughly $10 in with my change that accumulates over time every month that I don't buy polish. Once the end of the year comes that money is either going to go into my bank account or towards something fun for me and my boyfriend, a vacation or a little weekend get-away or something! Anyone else still going strong with their resolutions?
